The Program

Home Down payment Gift Registry program allows couples the opportunity to have friends and family contribute funds towards the purchase of a new home. The program is called, The FHA Bridal Registry, and works as a traditional registry, but is even more flexible. This is perfect for couples wanting to purchase a new home together. The thought of planning a wedding and saving for a down payment on a home can appear overwhelming. However, getting family and friends involved can help you achieve that goal quickly. This program allows the couple to create a down payment registry to collect the funds needed for your down payment and closing funds, thereby making this dream a reality.

The program is easy. Here’s how it works:

  1. Get preapproved with a lender  – contact one of our preferred lenders to get pre-approved for a home. We recommend One Nevada Credit Union or Cross Country Mortgage, both of which are familiar with the program and are mortgage experts who will make sure you are pre-approved for the right loan program.

  2. Sign a buyer broker agreement – this is an agreement stating you will work with one of our preferred real estate agents while in the process of purchasing your new home. To view the buyer broker agreement, please click here.
  3. Sign a commitment letter for the funds – simply sign a commitment letter that states you intend to use these funds contributed by your family and friends for the purchase of a new home. To view letter, please click here.
  4. Sign up for a PayPal Giving Widget – you will be required to set up a PayPal account to hold your down payment contributions. All contributions will be sent securely to your PayPal account. Family and friends can access your account thru our website, using the “down payment contribution” button. Setting up a PayPal account is easy. To visit PayPal, please click here.
  5. Get your certificate – once you have completed the above steps, you will be awarded a certificate of completion and we will provide you with 100 business sized cards.
  6. Tell everyone – once you register, you are ready to send your announcement about your intentions to your family and friends.
  7. Go shopping – start shopping for your dream home.
